Rhododendron orbiculare Decne. subsp. oblongum W.K.Hu

Primarily distributed in the Gongga Mountain Nature Reserve, this subspecies is classified as a National Grade II Protected Plant in China.

An evergreen shrub, it mainly grows in the forests of northeastern Guangxi. Both the roots and leaves of Rhododendron orbiculare subsp. oblongum are used in traditional medicine for dispelling wind-dampness and relieving pain, highlighting its medicinal value. 

Additionally, its rose-pink flowers possess high ornamental value. Not only does this plant have practical applications in herbal medicine, but it also serves as a stunning decorative species in gardens, enhancing landscapes with its vibrant blooms.
