The geological tectonic activity in the Gongga Mountain area is frequent, resulting in many folds and faults. As the mountain rises, a canyon with a height difference of nearly 5000 meters is formed on the east and west slopes of the river. The main peak of Gongga Mountain has four main ridges: northwest ridge, northeast ridge, southwest ridge, and southeast ridge. Due to the predominance of granite in the rock strata of the region, coupled with long-term ice erosion, the narrow ridges resemble sloping blades, with steep slopes and exposed rocks, and slopes often greater than 70 degrees. The Gongga Mountain area is also a concentrated area of high peaks in the Hengduan Mountains, with more than 20 peaks above 6000 meters above sea level gathered nearby. There are about 45 glaciers in the mountainous area, covering an area of 290 square kilometers, mainly consisting of valley glaciers, hanging glaciers, and cirque glaciers. There are also 5 glaciers with a length of more than 10 kilometers, and the longest is the Hailuogou Glacier, which is a famous glacier park in China with all the wonders of glaciers.
